Mycoscores / Choreospores cards create a playful condition for pulling out connections in between fungal and human thinking and being through movement practice. The cards propose a starting point for composing, exploring performativity or social connections. By playfully combining choreographic thinking with fungal principles of life, the cards act as a tool for exploring practices artistically both around and within the human body.
The Mycoscores / Choreospores pack consists of 49 cards and a booklet with introduction, instructions and and an additional text weaving connections in between fungal life, choreographic thinking and movement. The cards are based on verbs, words of action, that could be considered both fungal and human. Each of the cards presents a myco-human verb and a choreographic prompt/score related to that verb.
«I learned sustainable forestry as a family tradition. I created my first performances in the forest. Over the past decade I have spent a great deal of time deep in the woods, particularly during autumn. I look for mushrooms, I wander, I get lost, I empty out, I get surprised. I gently peek under the mosses, say hello to the mycelium. I have learnt from the way fungi think and are; and in dancing with them, I have become more fungi-like» (Maija Hirvanen).
