Lisa Colette Bysheim is a dancer and choreographer based between Oslo and Bergen, Norway. Her artistic practice spans from creating her own work, performing for others to collaborative creations. To date she’s been involved in several dance projects for film, gallery, stage and site specific works presented nationally and internationally.
As a dancer she has performed works by Yaniv Cohen, Roskva Yasmin Andersen, TGO//4332, directors Helena Wik and Lene Therese Teigen. She has also developed improvisational works in collaboration with dancers, visual artists and musicians. She has produced three cross-disciplinary dance performances combining performance, live music and film; ME(et) YOU (2016), Fugue -fju:g/ (2016), Ekko I (2017), and two dance films: Variations of Suspension (2018), Like We Were Together (2018) and an interdisciplinary exhibition Performativity Beyond the Body (2018). She premiered her latest solo work Ekko II (2019) co-produced by BIT Teatergarasjen and Kunstgarasjen in Bergen, touring to Oslo, Venice and Moss.
Bysheim is currently exploring the complexity of entangled materials; words, sounds and movements. She is particularly interested in the relationship between spoken words and movement, questioning engrained hierarchies and power dynamics in our social codes.
Bysheim is a graduate from Trinity Laban, School of new dance, Oslo and Ballet West. She is currently doing a Masters in Choreography at The National Arts Academy Oslo, graduating spring 2021.
