Prøverommet Spring 2025
17.2 – Nordnes Sjøbad
17.3 – Bergen Public Library
28.4 – Østre
11.5 – Galleri Kronborg
19.6 – Landmark, Bergen Kunsthall
Prøverommet returns to Nordnes Sjøbad in 2025, because the last event in 2024 was so fun! There will be site-specific sound performance, sculpture and video projected into the pool! Next the programme travels to Bergen Public Library, it’s been too long since Prøverommet was there last time in 2017. Expect a collaboration with Mandagsfilmen, the library’s film series, plus performance art. The season would not be complete without Østre; the event is already full with very exciting projects across theatre, music, and a new line dancing club concept. Then Prøverommet hikes into the city mountains for a collaboration with artist-run Galleri Kronborg. Let’s hope for typical May weather! Before the summer break, the season ends with a classic Prøverommet at Landmark, Bergen Kunsthall, the programme’s longest standing host-collaborator. This event will segway into BIT’s summer party, where teasers for the Autumn and Meteor festival programme will be revealed!
Prøverommet Autumn 2025
28.8 – Bergen Inkluderingssenter
15.9 – Bergen Internasjonale Kultursenter
20.10 – Bergen Kjøtt
19.11 – Visningsrommet USF

This autumn, Prøverommet will travel to a mix of new and long-time collaborators around Bergen. It begins at Bergen Inkluderingssenter in Landås, an adult education centre, where participants will present a variety of works across genres. Then the programme then moves to Bergen Internasjonale Kultursenter for the first time since 2017, where a mix of freeform performance and music projects will resonate in the space. At Bergen Kjøtt, home of the GRIP technician training initiative, Prøverommet will be a testing space both on-stage and behind-the-scenes. This year’s METEOR festival edition takes place at Visningsrommet USF, with a focus on theatre. Prøverommet concludes at Studio USF, USF Verftet, where BIT’s artist-in-residence in Fjaler will present an excerpt from their new dance piece, alongside other short experiments spanning various artistic fields.
