Ar Utke Ács is a dance artist working with contemporary dance and in an expanded understanding of choreography. They work with the poetics and politics of the body at the intersection of performance, dramaturgy, text, installation and social and imaginary spaces. Ar Utke Ács is particularly interested in norm-critical strategies from queer and crip theory and lived life. Collaboration and collective processes are central to their work and they often work across different forms of expression and media. Over the past few years, Ács has been working on a series of works that focus on emotional landscapes and subversive poetry through how we position ourselves and communicate nonverbally, including their immersive choreographic installation and performance, echoes. Ar Utke Ács graduated in dance from Stockholm University of the Arts and works in both performing and visual arts as a creator, performer and facilitator. Their work has been presented locally as well as internationally in collaboration with organizations such as MDT (SE), Dansehallerne (DK), Godsbanen (DK) Bergen Kunsthall (NO), Kunsthal Charlottenborg (DK) and Baltic Circle (FI).
