Echoes x 3 by Johanna Sevholt

When an echo starts, it is with one movement, a little sting of information, that is repeated, given more character, growing, but that first little feeling, that first little information is no more, it has become disintegrated. Echoes 3 will continue to be exhibited at Galleri Kronborg for a further 2 weeks.

Bio: Johanna Sevholt is a painter, clay-worker, printmaker and sound-maker thinking through working with materials, trying to understand questions and obsessions, like fear or how memory is shaping us as people. Mass in 48C by Chloe Knibbs

Mass in 48C is a sound art installation and playful provocation to ideas of historical genius in classical music. Made with pages from Beethoven’s infamous work Mass in C, the work explores unfamiliar visual and sonic contexts for the image of Beethoven to live within.  Beethoven has long been held up as a symbol of male genius, his image expanding far beyond the man he once was to embody traditional ideals of masculinity. The bra, by contrast, represents traditional femininity. By merging these two symbols and layering them with a soundscape that deteriorates and distorts, Mass in 48C confronts the weight of the past, seeking to challenge the dominance of male genius as the measure of who is worthy of remembrance and celebration in contemporary culture.

Bio: Chloe Knibbs is a composer, songwriter and sound artist. Her music has been described to have “an anguished tender quality” (The Telegraph) and encompasses opera, theatre, choral and chamber works and installations. Performed in and out of the concert hall, her work has been in venues including Birmingham New Street Train Station, October Gallery, MeWe360 and the International Anthony Burgess Centre. Currently an artist-in-residence at USF Verftet, she is undertaking a PhD at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire exploring narratives in classical music, representation of historical women composers and music theatre. chloeknibbs.com

Beneath the moss you shall rest by Sunniva Løberg Hvidsten

Beneath the moss you shall rest explores the connection between human emotions and the movements of nature. Through a poetic and visual exploration it seeks to illuminate how inner conflicts and vulnerable experiences can be mirrored or contrasted with the power and rhythms of nature. In a fusion of text and visual communication, the emotional landscape meets the natural world – as a dialogue between the inner and the outer world. Language: Norwegian with English translation in print.

Bio: Sunniva Løberg Hvidsten (23) is an multidisciplinary artist working in theatre, creative writing, acting and visual arts. She has a background in theatre studies, and has extensive experience as both an actor and visual communicator. Sunniva’s artistic practice combines the visual and the scenic, and is characterised by a curiosity for different forms of expression and ways of telling stories.

Ut på tur (out on a hike) by Håkan Hermansson

In my practice I mainly work with sculpture and performance. I often investigate subjects such as professional work, chance and relationships both between people and objects. For the exhibition Prøverommet, I started from the location Galleri Kronborg and made signs as if I were the responsible caretaker on the mountain. Ut på tur will continue to be exhibited at Galleri Kronborg for a further 2 weeks.

Bio: Håkan Hermansson (Göteborg, Sweden). Studying my second year BA in fine Art at KMD in Bergen.
