Papa Paul

Papa Paul  aka mr Congolese waist is a multidisciplinary artist. His music is about vibes, love, unity and spreading joy with common sense. Energy bomb on and off the stage, known for his lively performances with powerful vocals and dancing abilities. Papa Paul loves to entertain the audience!  With a unique approach to the craft of rhythm and poetry, wordsmith Pål mixes Norwegian, English and Swahili in his expression over instrumentals that leaves an impression.  Finally ready to showcase his first solo project since 2019 at Prøverommet.

August Ramstad

August (b. 2003) grew up in Bergen, studies philosophy and is active in the cultural and music scene through the band project Superføkk, as well as through his connection to Østre – Hus for eksperimentell og elektronisk lyd. He is a saxophonist with a penchant for unexpected, perverse expressions on the instrument. “The performance is an attempt to understand oneself through staging and will consist of improvisation using extended techniques on the saxophone and various tools run through electronics.”

Emma Fuchs Sjövall

Emma is an artist exploring how humans are shaped by and relate to different socio-political contexts. Her practice moves between performance, writing, installation, sound and video. In the scenography of a bourgeois decorated hall as terrain, Emma will present a glorious battle; a performance that engages nets that children sometimes use to catch butterflies, potatoes that were used against starvation in the 19th century and helmets that were used for entertainment in gladiator games.

Timoteo Carbone Hansson

Timoteo is a musician and composer based in Göteborg, his practice is based on exploring alternative harmonies and intonations through instrument crafting, modern composition techniques and field work research in traditional music. He will present ‘Mode I – Songs for the Dark Lake’, a performance for one musician and live electronics. The concert invites the audience into a sound world influenced by experimental music, early mediaeval polyphony and music archaeology. The concert is performed with a series of specially tuned woodwinds, stringed instruments and percussions that were handcrafted by the artist from traditional and experimental instrument designs.
