These artist talks will give us the opportunity to get to know some of the artists at Oktoberdans and the background to the works they present during the festival. Daniel Mariblanca/71BODIES will give insight into his solo work The Basement, Joshua Serafin will talk about PEARLS, Berit Einemo Frøysland about Norwegian husmann tradition and Blaff after the premiere, and Harald Beharie about his work in Undersang.

In conversation with Joshua Serafin we are thrilled to be joined by Eva Rowson.

Eva Rowson is an artist, curator and Managing Director of Bergen Kjøtt, one of Norway’s largest non-profit music production houses. Bergen Kjøtt is the home of GRIP, the only programme in Norway aimed at training more women, non-binary and transgender sound technicians, in a sector which is currently 93% cis-male dominated, co-founded with BIT Teatergarasjen, Carte Blanche, AKKS Bergen and Irene Bjørke in 2021.

Eva’s curatorial work is rooted in hosting, maintenance and collaboration- focusing on how different types of work are valued, and with what consequences. Eva initiated and has led the module ‘Collaborative Practices’ on the Fine Arts Masters programme of the Art Academy (KMD), University of Bergen since 2020.
