BIT Teatergarasjen (BIT) is looking for an engaged, confident, and creative producer to take overall responsibility for productions within our program. BIT is an organisation in transition as we move into Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus. The temporary position runs until the summer of 2026, with a possibility for extension.
The workday will be varied and challenging, requiring independence, precision, initiative, and collaboration skills. You must have an interest in and understanding of performing arts and the projects we present, along with experience in production—preferably from alternative venues or art forms. You should be able to take an active role and ensure progress. The working languages are Norwegian and English, and you must have strong written and verbal communication skills in at least one of these languages. The position is based in Bergen and includes evening and weekend work.
Responsibilities and Tasks
As a producer, you will be part of the Team Program & Production and will have independent responsibility for planning and executing parts of BIT’s program, events, and activities. The team is led by our Artistic Director.
We are a small and flexible organisation, and you will work closely with both your own and other teams. As a producer, you will maintain close communication with artists and companies, ensuring that artistic ambitions are realised within our framework. We present projects with a high level of professionalism and hospitality, from the initial idea meeting to the final evaluation. We use various venues throughout Bergen, making collaboration and adaptation with different stakeholders a key part of the role.
