Great progress with Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus
Work on Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus is progressing brilliantly, and there is plenty of activity on all sides. Downstairs, the interior walls are rising, and the technical trades are well underway with both ventilation and piping. The painter is dust-binding the concrete, and the elevator contractor is already building the freight elevator – and soon there will be two brand new passenger elevators!
To prepare the building for fitting out, fans and heaters have been installed and are working flat out to dry out the moisture from the shell construction phase. On level 1, Veidekke’s assembly team is hard at work with sandwich elements and perforated slabs. The first stage room already has a roof and walls, and it’s great to see it taking shape! In the second stage room, the good work with steel, sandwich elements and perforated slabs continues.
On level 2, the reinforcement of the concrete structures in the old Front building is making great progress – soon the last floor will also be ready! On floors 3 and 4, there will be two smaller studios where materials will be temporarily stored for further work. All eight floors of the building are being reinforced with stonework and wind barriers, and the window openings are covered with plastic to keep the building dry and safe.
On the upper floors, window installation is underway, with beautiful, large windows that will provide fantastic views of the city and the fjord. The subcontractor is working its way down the floors with good progress. And the roof is already fully covered.
In week 11, the crane at the construction site will be dismantled. “It’s a clear sign that we’re getting closer to our goal. This is going to be so good!
