We are looking for new projects for Dans – en fest! 2026. Criteria: The projects must not be completed, and the artists must be based in or primarily working in Bergen or Vestland, or have a clear connection to the region.

Dans – en fest! is about industry development, exchange, and celebration. The festival is a collaboration between BIT Teatergarasjen, Carte Blanche, and Bergen Dansesenter, and has been held as a biennale in 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024 (Ice Wet).

Dans – en fest! 2026 will take place January 17–19, 2026 at Studio Bergen and Bergen Dansesenter.

Send us your application telling us what you are working on in 2026! Are you just starting out or in the middle of a process? Do you want to test something out? We aim to put together a varied program with projects at different stages in their artistic development. Artists contributing to the festival have great freedom to choose their format and use their allotted time as they wish.

Practical/Financial

We can offer basic sound and lighting equipment on the presentation day.

Participants will receive an honorarium for the presentation day.

Mentorship Programme
Artists selected for Dans – en fest! have the opportunity to receive mentorship. The mentor will serve as an external eye and will follow the process over three sessions. The timeline is flexible and will be determined based on the artist’s preferences—it could be before, during, or after the festival.

Selection will be made by a committee consisting of representatives from BDS, CB, and BIT. Responses can be expected in mid to late June.
