Big changes are happening at Sentralbadet Scenekunsthus

Our offices on Teatergaten are just a stone’s throw from Sentralbadet, and we only need to step outside to see the activity on the construction site. Changes are happening at a rapid pace, and the photo we snapped on our way to work yesterday would likely look different today.

Veidekke om fremdriften:
The project has started erecting scaffolding on the exterior of the front building and along the office extension to enable timber work to begin. The outer walls will be built on-site, and subcontractors are already working on the framework for the section facing Komediebakken. The scaffolding will remain in place until the facade panels are installed.

As the concrete and steel assembly for the office extension nears completion, concrete workers are focusing on the final cast-in-place concrete structures for the project.

In the basement, subcontractors are reinforcing existing concrete structures. Concrete beams are being sanded to prepare for carbon fiber strips to be affixed to them.

No work will take place on the project during the Christmas holidays. The last working day will be December 23, and the construction site will reopen on January 2.

It’s incredibly exciting to follow this project up close. We’re now seeing the stage spaces take shape with walls, and we’re starting to get a feel for how the spaces in the performing arts center will feel as we pass by the site. It becomes more tangible with each passing day, and we look forward to seeing even more progress throughout the spring.

And if you visit the Gingerbread City, you can get an idea of what the building will look like in a few years…
