Bergen Public Library (Main Library)
Here is an overview on accessibility and facilities at Bergen Public Library (Main Library)
Building access
The public library has step-free access at the main entrance facing towards Bergen Storsenter. There is tactile paving leading up to this entrance. The doors are wide and open automatically. The library has several floors and an elevator (the door is 90 cm wide). The minimum dimensions of all relevant doorways are 90 cm wide (the door to the elevator to use the toilet on the ground floor).
Toilets
The toilets at the public library are open to all genders and are located on the ground floor. At the public library it costs 10 kroner to use the toilet, but it is free for paying guests in the café Amalies Hage. The public library has adapted toilet facilities on the basement floor (spacious, long sink, arm handles). The doorway to this accessible toilet is almost 130 cm wide and the door opens automatically. This toilet also has a changing table.
Public transport
The nearest bus stop is ‘Bergen Busstasjon’, about 300 meters away. The light rail stop ‘Nonneseter’ is less than 50 meters away.
Parking / drop off bay
The main library does not have its own parking lot available. However, it is possible to be dropped off at the train station or Bergen Storsenter.
