Following the success of previous gatherings, we invite you to join us for lunch. Sitting and eating around the table together is a way to get to know each other better, and it’s a good opportunity to talk about big and small things that concern us. On the last Wednesday of each month, the BIT staff have lunch at Kafé Mat & prat.
BIT offers coffee and cake!
Kafé Mat & prat is a café by Ny Sjanse’s job training initiative. The work is supervised by professional chefs who provide training in kitchen and cafeteria operations. Trainees receive Norwegian language lessons four days a week and instruction in restaurant and culinary subjects two days a week.
The café offers delicious lunch dishes from around the world. You can choose to take the food with you or dine inside the café. On sunny days, there are also outdoor tables with a view of the charming park on Gamle Nøstegaten.
La Cantina de la Touriste is a permanent installation by the artist Sol Calero that reimagines the interior of Kafé Mat & prat. The installation was part of the fourth edition of Bergen Assembly in 2022, Yasmine and the Seven Faces of the Heptahedron.
