Prøverommet is an independent program within BIT Teatergarasjen, which has been running for over 25 years, appearing in different venues throughout the seasons. It is a space to try out new artistic material in front of an audience, using any medium: dance, theatre, poetry, visual arts, music… As part of Kulturfest Åsane, Prøverommet pops up at The Textile Industry Museum in Salhus, presenting the dance and puppetry performance Un/masking by Teresa Kurowska. The event is suitable for all ages and all are welcome.
You can combine your visit with a fantastic museum tour, where the knitting machines are activated, which start at 12:00 and 15:00, and a children’s tour starts at 13:30. You can also visit the museum’s current exhibition stories from the forbidden garden by designer Siren Elise Wilhelmsen.
The Prøverommet performance is free to attend, just turn up! Normal fees apply if you want to attend the museum tour and exhibition.
Tickets for museum tour and exhibition on the Textile Industry Museum’s website.
Un/masking by Teresa Kurowska
Un/masking is a dance performance that intertwines contemporary dance and puppet theatre to explore themes of loneliness and the feeling of not belonging. When do we start feeling like puppets in others’ lives or our own?
Through movement and visual elements, the performance delves into the nature of loneliness, the power dynamics in relationships, and the difficulty of forming genuine, deep connections with other people.
