Odyssey Complex består av to adskilte og selvforsterkende deler, en film og en performance. Odyssevstemaet omfatter en reise gjort av et moderne subjekt over sviktende grunn, en ferd hvor billedspråk og sceniske effekter er utviklet for å gi publikum tilgang til sitt eget ubevisste i opplevelsen av historien.
I want to create a writing, which is able to open spaces to give responsibility and attention to the spectator. This writing should be able to play with the conditioned eyes of the spectator and surprise him constantly. This ground where the spectator gets invited is not a stable ground, he is responsible to find his position in it by himself struggling in front of it, being confronted with “staged reality” in its whole dimensions.
I want to invite the spectator to a discovery into the unconscious world of his own. This demands a writing, which is constructed in a surreal manner, to trigger the unconscious of the spectator and his own creativity, to let him construct his one world with the fragments he will have to confront.
Felix Mathias Ott studerte samtidsdans, kontekst og koreografi ved HZT Berlin, og arbeider nå både som scenograf, videokunstner, forfatter og koreograf, med vekselvis base i Paris og Berlin. I Facebookexistensialism danser han ut av sitt eget profilbilde. Han mestrer et filmspråk fra det selvbærende og dypt poetiske, til den dokumentariske iscenesettelsen, som i La Juenesse, hvor noen ungdommer stjeler en skulptur fra museet Theatre National de Chaillot i Paris og plasserer den på den travle plassen utenfor.
This evening will be separated and woven together in two parts, a filmography and a performance part. The theme of the Odyssey is a way to tell a journey of a subject, loosing as well his stable ground as leading him and the audience into a quest of the unconscious world of his own.
